Zuzana Bartošová has worked as a research worker at the Institute of Art History, Art Research Centre of Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava (Slovak Republic). She focuses on local art history from the early twentieth century up to the present, putting emphasis on the political context. Between 1990 and 1992 she worked as a director of the Slovak National Gallery. She was a founding president of AICA Slovak Section (1993–2000) and lectured at the University of Trnava. She is an author and editor of a number of art specialised publications, and curated many significant exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad.
