Language games - Budapest exhibition

In connection with the Budapest conference Beyond Friendships: Regional Cultural Transfer in The Art of the 1970s, we presented a selection from Artpool’s collection entitled Language Games. The exhibition at KEMKI, Budapest focused on East European artists’ works, activities, and dialogues that reflect on the challenges of transnational exchanges, communication between actors speaking different mother tongues, and explored the possibilities of using art as a language of mediation and cultural translation. The display contained works and documents of cross-border collaboration by, among other, Karel Adamus, Gábor Attalai, László Beke, Attila Csernik, Robert Cyprich, Tibor Csiky, Miklós Erdély, Jarosław Kozłowski, Natalia LL, Katalin Ladik, László Lakner, Dóra Maurer, Andrej Partum, Sándor Pinczehelyi, Robert Rehfeldt, Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt, Tamás Szentjóby, Bálint Szombathy, Endre Tót, Gábor Tóth, Péter Türk, Jiří Valoch and Franci Zagoričnik.
